These terms govern your use of NoOut. By using the app, you agree to them.

What NoOut does

NoOut lets you voluntarily restrict your own access to apps you choose, enforced through Apple's Screen Time APIs, tied to unpredictable "signal" check-ins that you must respond to within a time limit. NoOut is a self-discipline tool. It is not emergency monitoring, a safety product, or a guarantee of any kind. A missed signal has exactly one effect: your chosen apps become temporarily unavailable, for a period you agreed to in advance.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to use NoOut, and you must be using it on a device you own or are authorized to configure.

Your responsibility

You choose which apps to protect, your penalty terms, and your active hours. NoOut enforces exactly what you configured — it does not moderate, second-guess, or override your choices. You are responsible for the consequences you set for yourself.

No liability for restricted access

Because restricting your own app access is the entire point of the product, NoOut is not liable for any consequence of an app being unavailable during a penalty period you configured — including missed messages, calls, or time-sensitive information in a restricted app. You can end an active commitment at any time from Settings, which immediately lifts any active restriction.

Global Mode: unpredictable timing, no exceptions

Global Mode's signal fires at the same fixed worldwide instant for everyone who has joined it, derived from the date alone — it is not adjusted to your timezone, schedule, or local time of day. Depending on where you live, that instant can fall at any hour, including overnight. By joining Global Mode you accept that the signal may arrive while you are asleep, driving, in a class or meeting, or otherwise unable to safely or reasonably respond. NoOut does not detect, account for, delay, skip, or pause a signal for any such circumstance, for any reason.

If you miss a Global Mode signal for any reason — including being asleep or unable to respond safely — the same consequence applies as any other missed signal, in full, with no exception, appeal, or grace period. NoOut and its developer take no responsibility for the timing of the Global Mode signal or for any consequence, direct or indirect, of missing it under any circumstance. This section supplements, and does not limit, "No liability for restricted access" above.

Accounts are tied to one sign-in method

Signing in uses whichever method your device's platform offers — Sign in with Apple on iOS, Sign in with Google on Android — and each account is scoped to that method only. NoOut does not link or merge accounts across sign-in methods or platforms. If you switch from an iPhone to an Android device, or back, you will not be able to access your previous account's history from the new device; a new sign-in creates a new account. This is a deliberate design choice, not a bug, and NoOut is not liable for any data or history that becomes inaccessible as a result of switching platforms.

Subscriptions

NoOut does not currently offer paid subscriptions. If and when it does, pricing and terms will be presented at the time of purchase and are additionally governed by the App Store's terms.

Disclaimer of warranties

NoOut is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NoOut and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the "Effective" date above will be updated. Continued use of NoOut after a change constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
