These terms govern your use of SwornIn. By using the app, you agree to them.

What SwornIn does

SwornIn lets you voluntarily restrict your own access to apps you choose, enforced through Apple's Screen Time APIs on iOS and a local blocking module on Android, tied to promises you make with a deadline. SwornIn is a self-discipline tool. It is not emergency monitoring, a safety product, or a guarantee of any kind. Breaking a promise has exactly the effect you agreed to when you signed it: your chosen apps lock for a fixed period, or — on a third strike — SwornIn itself locks until you pay to reset.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to use SwornIn, and you must be using it on a device you own or are authorized to configure.

Your responsibility

You choose your promises, the apps you stake on them, and the deadlines you agree to. SwornIn enforces exactly what you configured and signed — it does not moderate, second-guess, or override your choices. You are responsible for the consequences you set for yourself.

No liability for restricted access

Because restricting your own app access is the entire point of the product, SwornIn is not liable for any consequence of an app — or SwornIn itself — being unavailable during a penalty period you agreed to, including missed messages, calls, or time-sensitive information in a restricted app. Recurring promises can be ended from Settings on a day you've already kept that day's occurrence; a promise cannot otherwise be ended early once sworn.

Your record

Your strike count and lifetime broken-promise count are permanent by design — they are not erased by deleting app data, deleting the app, or reinstalling. This is a deliberate feature of the product, not a bug: paying to reset restores access, never the record itself.

Meet Request

After every paid reset has been used and you break a promise one more time, SwornIn offers a final, optional option: request to meet the person who built it, anywhere you choose. We mean this — it's a real commitment, not a marketing device.

It is, necessarily, a best-effort commitment rather than a guaranteed service. We will make a genuine, good-faith effort to arrange and attend a meeting at a time and place that is safe, legal, and reasonably feasible to reach. We reserve the right to decline, reschedule, or propose an alternative (including a video call) if a request is unsafe, illegal, made in bad faith, or realistically impossible to fulfill (extreme distance, travel restrictions, a disaster or conflict zone, and similar circumstances). This feature does not create a legally binding obligation to appear at a specific place or time, and SwornIn is not liable for any cost, inconvenience, or consequence arising from a meeting that does or does not occur.

Submitting a Meet Request is entirely optional, as described in our Privacy Policy, and can be withdrawn at any time from within the app.

Purchases

A reset after SwornIn itself locks is a paid in-app purchase, processed through the App Store or Google Play. The first reset is $2, doubling with each successive reset ($2, then $4, then $8, and so on). SwornIn Premium is available as a $19.99/year subscription or a one-time $39.99 lifetime purchase, also processed through the App Store or Google Play. Pricing and terms are presented at the time of purchase and are additionally governed by the relevant store's terms.

Reset purchases are non-refundable except where required by law. Premium subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled through the App Store or Google Play before the renewal date. Lifetime purchases do not expire.

Disclaimer of warranties

SwornIn is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SwornIn and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the "Effective" date above will be updated. Continued use of SwornIn after a change constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
