Terms of Service

Effective August 11, 2026

These terms govern your use of QuickVars. By using the app, you agree to them.

What QuickVars does

QuickVars is a local, encrypted personal-storage tool for small facts you choose to save — it is not a legal document vault, a password manager, a backup service, or a substitute for an official record. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of what you save and for keeping an independent copy of anything critical. Because QuickVars stores data only on your device with no server-side copy, a lost, reset, wiped, or damaged device means that data is gone — there is no account recovery, because there is no account.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to use QuickVars, and you must be using it on a device you own or are authorized to configure.

Your responsibility

You choose what to save, how to categorize it, which items to mark for Emergency Access, and which item to pin to your Lock Screen. QuickVars enforces the security model described in the Privacy Policy exactly as written — it does not moderate or second-guess what you choose to store. Opting an item into Emergency Access means it is, by design, visible without Face ID; that trade-off is yours to make per item.

No liability for data loss

Because your encryption key and your data both live only on your device by design, QuickVars and its developer are not liable for data loss resulting from device loss, theft, damage, reset, an uninstall, or a failed/unsupported device restore. This is the direct consequence of storing nothing on a server — described plainly here and in the Privacy Policy, not a hidden limitation.

Purchases

QuickVars Pro is available as a one-time $39.99 purchase, processed through the App Store. Pricing and terms are presented at the time of purchase and are additionally governed by Apple's own terms.

Purchases are non-refundable except where required by law, and do not expire — Pro is a one-time, permanent unlock, not a subscription.

Disclaimer of warranties

QuickVars is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QuickVars and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the "Effective" date above will be updated. Continued use of QuickVars after a change constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
